Death,an eternal poem

Death you are a poem,
A poem I would write one day
With my last painful breath,
pushing my soul away.

As the light in front of the eyes fades somehow,
as I remember some broken vow,
and my only sense of sub-conscious is left,
the heart cries out 'why is it now'.

Life seems like a bird gone astray,
Death you are a poem,
A poem I would write one day

The love not showed, the words not said,
thoughts of life's mistakes go berserk in the head,
but the tunnel to divinity seems sure to travel,
and finally rest with the sky as my bed.

At that moment for both life and death I pray,
Death you are a poem,
A poem I would write one day.

As the eyes see the creator at the end of the light,
the heart even in its pain feels the fright,
but seeing the Almighty's open arms,
one does wonder, was life worth the plight.

A plight which was so long here to stay,
Death you are a poem,
A poem I would write one day.

In the end when my eyes close,
the moment when the heart beat froze,
and I see myself floating away,
over my body holding a rose

And then I fly above and away,
Death you are a poem,
A poem I would write one day
