The Eyes said it

I woke up one day to look at the mirror,
I saw someone,an unknown figure.

the face i remembered,
I knew the built,
but the eyes were heavy,
they had too much guilt.

trying as much
to look in the eyes,
I failed again and again
after countless tries.

they were of someone,
who couldn't accept the reality,
someone who was always stuck
with his life's triviality.

It was as if the person
was a prisoner of sorts,
someone more or less
like a slave of his thoughts.

the eyes wanted him
to wake up from his sleep,
but his inglorious past
was just piled up in a heap.

and even as those eyes,
to open they pleaded and begged,
even further away
from the truth he got dragged.

and with this came
a sense feeling of clarity.
a similar case,
a sense of similarity.

I understood the mirror
couldn't possibly be lying.
it must be telling,
what the eyes were trying.

I finally had woken up to realize,
I was seeing myself with my own eyes.

Death,an eternal poem

Death you are a poem,
A poem I would write one day
With my last painful breath,
pushing my soul away.

As the light in front of the eyes fades somehow,
as I remember some broken vow,
and my only sense of sub-conscious is left,
the heart cries out 'why is it now'.

Life seems like a bird gone astray,
Death you are a poem,
A poem I would write one day

The love not showed, the words not said,
thoughts of life's mistakes go berserk in the head,
but the tunnel to divinity seems sure to travel,
and finally rest with the sky as my bed.

At that moment for both life and death I pray,
Death you are a poem,
A poem I would write one day.

As the eyes see the creator at the end of the light,
the heart even in its pain feels the fright,
but seeing the Almighty's open arms,
one does wonder, was life worth the plight.

A plight which was so long here to stay,
Death you are a poem,
A poem I would write one day.

In the end when my eyes close,
the moment when the heart beat froze,
and I see myself floating away,
over my body holding a rose

And then I fly above and away,
Death you are a poem,
A poem I would write one day

What is a miracle?

"If you need a miracle,be the miracle".
Watching the maverick Jim Carrey's 'Bruce Almighty', I heard this line. Though the movie was drab, this line some how got hold of me.I remembered all those times when I desperately prayed for a miracle,be it the CEE result or directing the inaugural play at REZO.And I wondered, how true is this line? Then I realized,it could not have been more apt than this. What do we consider miracle is just the human will which makes us hold on one second longer.

We pray outside the operation theatre for our beloved, that he comes out alive and well. And inside, the doctor tries his best to cure him. And when we see our beloved alright, we call it a miracle. What has the doctor done?Has he used some magic,or is he God?Neither,he has just done his work, with all sincerity and for us he has pulled off a miracle right in front of our eyes.

A person playing for over 20 years, for a country of over a billion,a sport which is religion here, and after 20 years still revered by all and one, is nothing short of a miracle.Yet we see Sachin Tendulkar, going strong with every match.

A lady reaching the highest position in one of the world's largest democracy where women are till now confined,or more like enslaved to the four walls of the house. Can this be anything but a miracle? No prizes for guessing, the miracle is Pratibha Patil.

A child who left school in fourth grade 'coz he could not mug up and repeat like a parrot, changed the way as we see things, only with his extra-ordinary brilliance in Science and Mathematics, for which he also won the Nobel Prize.Yes that's why Albert Einstein was a miracle.

But these people were on the border of human and divine. What about us common people? Can we,actually be a miracle?Or is using this word a blasphemy to the above mentioned? No,its neither. You cant be a miracle if that's all you want.Miracle is a bit more than just believing, its also doing. But doing without holding anything back, doing without considering "what if it does not work?".

After wondering on these thoughts,I did realize that miracle is not a privilege for the blessed or super-human only.If each of us gave a 100% to our passion everyday,if we love our work with all our heart, and if we have the courage to fight till our very last breath,we all can be a miracle.Yes,may be not noted like the people mentioned above, but a miracle we can surely be.And that's when we realize the beauty and true meaning of the sentence

"If you want a miracle,be the miracle"
